I General Information
Founded in 1928, Anhui Normal University (ANU) is one of the oldest institues of higher learning established in
ANU is now composed of 18 colleges, offering a complete and systematic student cultivation system which varies at different degree levels from bachelor to doctors and in different forms from full-time higher education, adult higher education to international education. ANU has now developed into a comprehensive full-fledged university that provides subject studies in literature, history, philosophy, economics, administration, laws, science, engineering, pedagogy and etc.
Presently, ANU possesses 7 doctor-degree posts, 88 master-degree posts and 60 under-graduate majors. The university has occupies an area of 1.93 million square meters in total, which is environmentally ideal for teaching and learning.
ANU is one of the first group of universities that were accredited by the Ministry of Education to accept international students enjoying Chinese government scholarships. Besides, it is one of the national bases of Teaching Chinese Language and Culture for Oversea Chinese and the location of Anhui Provincial Center of Chinese Language International.

1. Chinese language and cultural exchange program:
(1) Short-term language and cultural studies
School length: 4 weeks—3 months at different classes according to Chinese level, group students taught in a special class
Enrollment and application deadline:
Spring class: March to May
Summer class: June to August
Fall class: September to November
The dead line is 2 weeks before each class starts.
Courses offered:
Chinese crash courses, Daily Chinese conversation, Chinese shadowboxing, Calligraphy, Painting, Knowledge of Chinese folk custom and culture, Traditional Chinese sports health care, HSK intensive training
Out-campus activities:
Sight-seeing along the Yangtze River, visits to historical relics and scenic spots in Wuhu and famous tourist sites such as Mount Huangshan, Mount Jiuhuashan, and ancient villages such as Xidi and Hongcun in southern Anhui, and visits to nearby large cities such as Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shanghai
(2) Long-term language studies:
School length: 5 months--2 years, 20hrs a week, taught at different classes according to students’ Chinese level

Spring term starts at late February and the deadline for application is January 20.
Fall term starts at early September and the deadline for application is August 20.

III. Expenses:
1. Short-term program costs:
(1) Registration fee: 300 RMB Yuan per person
(2 ) Tuition:2,600 RMB Yuan for 4 weeks and 600 RMB Yuan for each additional week
(3 ) Accommodation: 20—30 RMB Yuan per person per day for a double room
(4 ) Food: Fixed meals are prepared. Common cost is 60 RMB Yuan per person per day.
(5 ) Books and supplies: 200 RMB Yuan per person per term
(6) Tourist fee: Fees will be charged according to different tourist routes required by students.
(7) Age limit: Participants should be healthy and are under the age of 65.

IV. Accommodation and costs:
The university has a fully-equipped building for our international students. Each room has
a TV set, an air-conditioner, a telephone, a bath-room and etc. Besides, on the first floor there is a kitchen with several refrigerators and a laundry. All these make our students’ living here convenient and pleasant. Costs for students studying for more than half a year are as followed:
(1) Double room: 15 RMB Yuan per day per person
(2) Single room: 28RMB Yuan per day per person
